I’m lucky to be working with such a great team. The staff at the ranch are some of the most passionate and dedicated individuals you will ever meet. They work tirelessly day in and day out to ensure that our dogs receive the best possible care. Despite the long hours, physical demands, and emotional investment that comes with the job, they continue to show up with a smile on their faces and a heart full of love for the dogs.

Supervising a group of dogs can be physically demanding, you have to be on your feet, interacting with the dogs, making sure to clean up after them and making sure that all the dogs are comfortable. This can be challenging day after day. The group dynamics are different each day, some days the dogs can be harder to manage than others, for whatever reason. Despite these challenges, my team remains committed to providing the best possible care to their dog pals, no matter what.

But the physical demands of the job are only part of the story. My team also invests a great deal of emotional energy in their work. They form close bonds with the dogs and often become emotionally invested in their well-being. This can be both rewarding and challenging. Dogs get old way to quick. Over the years we had to say goodbye to dogs that we were close to. It hurts.

Despite these challenges, these great people continue to show up day after day with a passion for their work and a dedication to the dogs they love. They are true heroes, and they deserve our appreciation and recognition for the important work that they do.

So how can we show our appreciation for all small animal care workers? There are many ways! One simple way is to say thank you. Take the time to acknowledge the hard work and dedication they have, and let them know that their efforts are truly appreciated. Consider leaving a positive review online, or sending a thank-you note. It really makes their day!

This past week was small business week, but every week should be. Small businesses don’t have the resources large corporations do. They’ve struggled with inflation and rising labor costs, supply chain disruptions and had a hard time filling positions. Many did not survive the upheaval of the last couple of years. Of course you can help them by shopping small, but you can also show your support by leaving a nice review, like and share their posts on social media, post pictures, tag a friend and commenting on something nice. Without small businesses, a lot of the things we enjoy would not be there. Thank you for your support and have a nice weekend.
