As the leading dog daycare facility in town, we take pride in offering a safe and stimulating environment for your beloved pets. Today, we want to shed some light on our unique and comprehensive evaluation process that ensures every dog's personality is truly understood and celebrated.

At A Walk in the Park, we believe that each dog is an individual with their own distinct personality traits. Our evaluation process goes beyond simply determining whether a dog can be accepted into our daycare program or not. We aim to capture the essence of your dog's personality, ranging from timid to easygoing and agreeable to assertive. We understand that each dog has unique needs, preferences, and comfort levels, and we make it our mission to provide the perfect playgroup tailored to their needs.

From the moment you bring your precious pup to our doorstep, we keenly observe their responses and reactions. We take note of their excitement or hesitation as they walk up to our facility, and we pay attention to how they interact with our friendly staff members. The evaluation process continues as we give them a guided tour of the daycare premises, introducing them to the sights, sounds, and scents of our bustling environment.

During their evaluation, we engage your furry companion in various interactions, offering toys and food to gauge their reaction. We closely observe their behavior as they experience these situations both in isolation and in the presence of other dogs. To ensure a smooth transition into a playgroup, we introduce them gradually to different canine playmates, ranging from easygoing and submissive dogs to those who enjoy a bit of playful pushing.

We understand that coming to a new place full of unknown canine faces can be both exciting and daunting. Young dogs might jump right into the fun, but we take extra care with more mature dogs, allowing them to explore and realize that our daycare is a fun and safe haven. Our evaluations capture a moment in time, understanding that dogs, just like humans, grow and evolve, and their preferences may change over time.

To get started with the evaluation, we schedule an essential owner interview to gather more information about your dog's temperament, likes, dislikes, and any special requirements. Additionally, we schedule two four-hour visits, allowing your furry friend more time to acclimate to our environment. This approach helps us observe their comfort levels over multiple sessions, ensuring that they feel at home before joining a playgroup. Some dogs may require shorter visits initially, to prevent overwhelming and foster positive associations with our daycare.

At A Walk in the Park, we cherish every dog like a family member. Our team of experienced and caring staff members dedicates themselves to providing a safe and enjoyable environment for your pets. As your fur babies continue their journey with us, we promise to keep a watchful eye on their well-being, making sure they are thriving and having a blast.
