In an era where every penny counts, it's understandable that you're carefully evaluating your options for dog daycare. However, I urge you to consider more than just price when selecting a dog daycare.

The concept of dog daycare was founded on the noble intention of providing socialization and enrichment for our furry friends. However, as demand has increased, so too has the number of facilities, and not all have maintained this mission. Many operate merely as holding pens, lacking in structure, engagement, and personalized attention. We are an unregulated industry where standards of care depend solely on the operator of the facility. There is no oversight and no certification required. As an owner, I voluntarily decided to get certified through PACCC, to let the public know that we adhere to the highest standards.

At A Walk in the Park, we have reimagined what dog daycare can be, prioritizing the well-being and development of each dog:

  • Consistent Playgroups: Our membership-based model promotes comfort and familiarity, allowing dogs to form lasting bonds.
  • Customized Groups: We group dogs by size, age, personality, and play style to ensure harmonious interactions.
  • Enrichment Activities: Our environment includes stimulating toys to engage dogs mentally and socially. We offer activities that offer cognitive enrichment, sensory enrichment, physical enrichment and nutritional enrichment. Dogs need to be able to express these innate behaviors for their mental and emotional wellbeing.
  • Expert Staff: Trained in dog behavior, playgroup management and scientifically sound training methods, our team tailors activities to support each dog’s needs, promoting positive behaviors.
  • 24/7 Care: Your peace of mind is paramount, which is why we provide round-the-clock care.
  • Sound sanitation practices to keep dogs healthy. We use professional equipment. We use sanitizers like Rescue, an accelerated hydrogen peroxide, for its excellent properties. It is safe to use, does not have noxious fumes and sanitizes quickly.

We see our facility not just as a daycare, but as a school for dogs, where growth and learning are at the forefront. This approach, while more costly, supports a higher standard of care and enrichment that your dog deserves.

We understand that budgets vary, and respect that cost is a significant factor for many. However, if you value a comprehensive approach to your dog’s development and well-being, we believe our daycare represents a worthy investment in your furry family member..

Thank you for considering A Walk in the Park.  We are committed to making your dog’s days enriching and joyful.

Warm regards,

Dirk and the Team at A Walk in the Park
